Maxx Williams:

Williams probably had the most impressive play in the Ravens’ first preseason contest, which involved a hurdle of one player and a truck of another. That play that looked doomed as a failed 4th-and-20 conversion, but because of his athletic ability and effort he took what should have been four to five yards short of the first down marker, and powered his way past the first down marker.

Williams continues to battle Crockett Gillmore for the starting tight end job and will look to build a stronger resume in his second game of preseason action.

I do like Williams a lot (as you know if you have read any other of my articles on The Baltimore Wire), but I think Gillmore will be the starter Week 1. That statement is more a testament to how good I think Gillmore is rather than how I evaluate Williams’ talent.
