Davis was very effective in his ability to clog up the middle of the field. He had an open lane into the backfield, where he tackled running back Tim Hightower for a loss. He showed his strength when he stopped the running back in his tracks with only one arm before finishing the tackle with two.
The former Iowa defensive tackle was falling when he made contact with Hightower, so his ability to maintain his grip was impressive all while preventing the running back from making back to the line of scrimmage.
He applied pressure on the quarterback on multiple occasions also. The Ravens are expecting the rookie to contribute almost immediately, and he certainly had a good showing in his first game.
