We also like to recognize of our friends throughout the FanSided Network. Here are what others are saying about beloved our hometown teams:
Ravens: This player is the key to a Super Bowl run
– Brett Foote, Ebony Bird
The Baltimore Ravens were just a few plays away from knocking the New England Patriots out of the playoffs last season. The struggles in the secondary eventually backfired and Tom Brady carved the Ravens’ secondary in the second half. General Manager Ozzie Newsome addressed the secondary this offseason by signing Kendrick Lewis, Kyle Arrington and Cassius Vaughn, while also drafting Tray Walker in the fourth round of the draft. Foote, the Editor at Ebony Bird, believes one of these additions is the missing piece to a title run.
Maryland tabbed No. 1 in ESPN preseason poll
– Mollie Heintzelman, Terrapin Station
The Maryland Terrapins could have the best roster in the nation with the return of Melo Trimble and players like Diamond Stone and Rasheed Sulaimon coming to College Park. Head Coach Mark Turgeon has done a fantastic job of recruiting since Maryland has joined the Big Ten, and the people over at ESPN agree as they have ranked the Terps as their top team entering the 2015-2015 college basketball season.
Baltimore Ravens: Should team bring back Bernard Polard?
– Luis Tirado, NFL Spin Zone
The injury to Matt Elam leaves a void in the Ravens secondary. Head Coach John Harbaugh has said the team will not seek outside help, and will stick with the young, unproven guys currently on the roster. We’ve seen that smoke screen too often in sports and the Ravens are likely searching for a replacement elsewhere. Should Harbaugh consider bringing back safety Bernard Pollard to add depth to the safety position?
Baltimore Orioles: Could Mychal Givens Replace Darren O’Day in 2016?
– Mike Travers, Birds Watcher
Darren O’Day is one of many free agents the Orioles will be available to the rest of Major League Baseball after this season. The All-Star reliever should command a good contract in the offseason as some team could make him their closer. The Orioles will hope to keep their one-two punch of O’Day and Zach Brittion together, but if O’Day is to leave Baltimore, could Orioles prospect Mychal Givens take over the setup role next season?
