Week 4: Pittsburgh Steelers – Oct. 1, 2015 (8:25 p.m.)

2014 Record: 11-5
Head-to-Head Record: 18-24
Last Meeting: Ravens 30 – Steelers 17 (Jan 4, 2015)

The last time these two teams met, the Ravens walked out with their first playoff win at Pittsburgh in franchise history. Baltimore’s defense was able to limit the Steelers’ high-powered offense to just three field goals during the first three quarters and Flacco threw two second-half touchdown passes to end Pittsburgh’s season. The trip to Heinz Field could not come at worse time this season, however.

The matchup will be on Thursday night for the second straight season and it will be tough for the Ravens to get a win on the road on a short week. The Ravens have won the last two Thursday night contests between the bitter rivals, but both of those games were played in Baltimore. The fewer days of preparation could give the Steelers the inside edge to take an early lead in the AFC North, who also take on the New England Patriots without Tom Brady in the lineup.

While it’s undeniably a disadvantage to play on a short week, there is a minor benefit in having a few extra days to rest with their third straight divisional opponent up next. If the Ravens do in fact take the loss at Pittsburgh, it will be important to get a win the following week to keep pace in the AFC North.
