As previously stated, Gillmore will be competing with rookie Maxx Williams for the starting tight end job. Last season, Gillmore was primarily known as a blocking tight end, but he has shown that he’s a more than capable receiver as well. He recorded 10 receptions on just 15 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Gillmore has bulked up in the offseason and looks ready to prove that he can be the main guy. Of course he’s being overlooked because of the talent that Williams possesses, but Gillmore is the most ready to play right now.

Marc Trestman had great success with Martellus Bennett in Chicago, so maybe he can do the same with Gillmore in Baltimore.

He has looked good in camp thus far and he definitely has something to prove.
