Tray Walker
Walker is the prototypical new corner that the league is transitioning to. As the receivers around the league continue to bigger, so does the need for corners with more length, and at 6-foot-2, Walker is just that. Walker comes from a smaller school at Texas Southern, playing in 29 games over his final three seasons. The concern is his play has been against Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents, not exactly the same level of competition he will see in the NFL.
It is a solid pick for the Ravens because he is a project that does not need to get on the field right away. What was a weakness a season ago is now a strength. Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb will be the starters with Kyle Arrington likely manning the slot. Cassius Vaughn is a strong cornerback who has started in his career and will likely make the roster. Walker is going to need a strong camp to earn the fifth or maybe sixth corner spot or he could find himself on the practice squad.
