Baltimore Ravens Rookies Preview Entering Training Camp
By Joe Serpico
Nick Boyle
Boyle was the second tight end the Ravens selected in this draft, joining second-round pick Maxx Williams. Boyle was a three-year starter and the all-time leader among Delaware tight ends in receptions (101) and second at the position with 12 touchdowns. He has all the tools to be one of those late round draft choices that could become a star at the tight end position.
Boyle is the beneficiary of the news that Dennis Pitta will start the year on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. It was unlikely that the team kept four tight ends on the active roster, but with Pitta not on the initial 53-man roster, Boyle has a spot available to him. He has the size to be a red zone threat, but he has some stiff competition to get onto the field.
