Big Ten Football: 5 Impact Freshmen for 2015
RB Larry ‘LJ’ Scott, Michigan State

Jeremy Langford is now in the NFL, so it’s time for a new name to emerge in East Lansing. The Spartans are loaded in the backfield, but one player in particular has “star” written all over him. That’s L.J. Scott.
There are some pretty high expectations for Scott, who is rated as a 4-star prospect and a consensus top-10 running back in the Class of 2015. Scott is certainly in the mix for playing time this season as a true freshman. Sure, he’ll have to share carries, but he has the skill set of a star in the making.

Scott is a big physical back, at 6’2 and 230 pounds. He’s a downhill runner in the mold of previous Spartan running backs Langford and Le’Veon Bell. As a senior, Scott rushed for 2,819 yards and 39 touchdowns. He’ll look to put up some big numbers with the Spartans as well.
Scott possesses a great mix of power and speed when he runs the ball. When it’s all said and done, he’ll be the best back in the Spartans’ rotation this season.
