For those of you not from the area, Smothers is a big-time athlete who has been terrorizing opposing teams in Baltimore County for the past few years. Smothers has accumulated a number of accolades in his three years in high school, including All-Metro and All-State.

Smothers was an integral part of Franklin’s 3A state championship run. He scored four touchdowns in the championship game.

Smothers, like Diggs, has tremendous speed and athleticism and has made a number of spectacular catches over the course of his career. He’s not the biggest receiver, but his skill set and playmaking ability cannot be ignored.

He’s rated as the No. 7 prospect in Maryland and the 30th wide receiver in the class. Smothers is strongly considering six schools, including West Virginia, Rutgers, Penn State, and Nebraska.
