Cleveland Browns – 2014 Record: 7-9, 4th place in the AFC North

The Browns often sit at the bottom of the division at the end of the season. They were quick when free agency started to begin signing players.

The team signed quarterback Josh McCown to a three-year deal, who they hope can help their quarterback woes. They still have Johnny Manziel, who they are still hoping can be a beneficial factor the team.

He has shown interest in changing his behavior to be more of an impactful player on the field. He already said his “money-sign” celebration would not be used next season. With the addition of the 12-year veteran, he could provide the leadership for Manziel, which the Browns do not have very often.

The Browns’ quarterback problems hold them back from making any type of real threat to any other team in the AFC North.

It does not matter very much what they do if they cannot fix the quarterback position, though they did begin anew with new coaches. They hired a new offensive coordinator, a new wide receivers coach, a new quarterbacks coach and a new defensive coordinator.

Quarterback Brian Hoyer gave the team more than 3,000 yards least season, but he left the team to go to the Houston Texans on a two-year deal. Whomever the team names the starting quarterback will have wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to throw to. The team signed the veteran receiver to a two-year deal, having previously played his entire career with the Kansas City Chiefs.

They have made many moves this offseason, but until they can solidify the quarterback position, they haven’t done anything to present themselves as a serious threat to the other AFC North teams.
