A couple of the Baltimore Orioles are showing off their sock game this weekend against the Red Sox.

The city of Baltimore has a lot going on right now and one of those things is the Orioles’ sock game.

The weekend series at Camden Yards against the Red Sox has given us a glimpse at how amazing a baseball uniform can look when matched with the right socks.

On Friday, Adam Jones rocked a pair of stirrups that haven’t been seen since the 1950-Early 60’s that were last worn in 2010 during a throwback game versus the Washington Nationals.

Ever since last season, Jones has been sporting a nice-looking pair of black stirrups with three orange stripes as seen below.

But, when both Adam Jones and David Lough both rocked the high stirrups, it was a thing of beauty.

More from Baltimore Orioles

I don’t know about you all, but when I played baseball, I would always show off the socks. I played Little League in the late 90’s-2000’s when plain socks were in style and when major league players began to wear baggier pants while showing no socks.

Now, we are beginning to see more and more players in the high school, college and professional ranks revert from the no sock look and bring back the stirrups of old and I hope we continue to see more and more of it.

One could only hope to see the entire Orioles team wear those socks from last night instead of just a couple players here and there sporting them. I think it would only add to an already great-looking Orioles uniform.

Thank you Adam Jones and David Lough for bringing back a little Orioles history. Keep it coming.

Oh…and thanks for the walk-off home run win last night too!

UPDATE: Here is a look at the white jerseys with the stirrups. Add Manny Machado to the list of Orioles rocking the new hose.

Sock swag brought to you by Adam Jones. Let’s hope we see a pie in the face later today.
