1. Boston Red Sox – Pablo Sandoval, Brock Holt, Garin Cecchini
Pablo Sandoval and the Red Sox take the top spot in the rankings, as Kung Fu Panda brings his World Series ring to Boston. Sandoval is a career .294/.346/.465 hitter, who averages 20 home runs a season. A two-time All-Star, Sandoval also is a playoff star.
While his defense is likely the worst in the division, his ability and consistency at the plate gives him the top nod. And to be honest, that home run number could conceivably double outside of spacious AT&T Park. The switch-hitter will love playing at Fenway Park.
Holt has already been addressed as a backup, but he is a serviceable, gritty player who is well-liked by the Sox faithful. Cecchini likely won’t make the team, but is considered a highly-regarded prospect for the Red Sox.
