MVP: Marshal Yanda

How about some love for an offensive lineman? To me, Marshal Yanda is the best player on the Ravens year after year. He is the most consistent Ravens player game after game. Unfortunately, he never gets enough credit for what he does. However, he does get some national recognition. Yanda has been selected the Pro Bowl for the past four seasons.

Justin Forsett has had a fantastic year and is a close second in the MVP race, but without Yanda opening the holes for him, he would have not been as successful as he was.

Marshal Yanda was easily the best guard in the NFL this season, and it was not even close. Pro Football Focus has Yanda as their best guard in the entire NFL, and Evan Mathis who is in second place is almost 20 points behind him.

With Rick Wagner being lost for the season, Yanda is now forced to play right tackle, instead of his traditional position of right guard. He is still playing fantastic and is still the best Ravens offensive lineman out there. John Urschel has played very well in his few games at guard, and I think that has a lot to do with the mentoring from Marshal Yanda.

Even if Marshal Yanda does not get as much attention as he deserves, it does not go unnoticed.
