The Ravens won’t miss Haloti Ngata… yet

Miami has run the ball at an impressive 4.6 yards per carry clip this year, but there are no backs on the roster that are genuinely fearsome. Lamar Miller is in the midst of a career year and would seem to be the primary focus for the Ravens’ run defense.

Without Haloti Ngata, the Dolphins may try to pound the rock a bit more. That would be a mistakes, as the Ravens are still remarkably stout up front, with a presumed starting trio of Chris Canty (huge), Timmy Jernigan (extremely stout) and Brandon Williams (freakishly strong). With C.J. Mosley, Terrell Suggs and Daryl Smith patrolling behind the D-line, the Dolphins will still struggle to run the football.

Ngata will be missed, as Jernigan and the rest of the possible replacements are clear downgrades. But the Ravens are so strong up front that they can weather this storm, at least against the Dolphins.
