If you look on paper, your first thought would be that the secondary got torn apart in this game. Drew Brees threw for 420 yards and three touchdowns, which are great numbers. However, I honestly don’t think that this group performed all that bad.

First off, Brees’ QB rating was an unimpressive 66.6 per ESPN. For Drew Brees, that is not very good. Secondly, although Lardarius Webb gave up two big-yardage plays in this game, he made touchdown-saving tackles on both plays. You got to look at the positive.

And lastly, recently suspended safety Will Hill had a spectacular game. He defended three passes working on the great Jimmy Graham and made what I think was the biggest play of the game. With the game tied at 17 in the third quarter, he took a Drew Brees pass 44-yards back to the house. From that point on, the Ravens took the momentum and never gave it back.

They still got burnt on a number of occasions however, and there is plenty of room for improvement.
