The Saints ground game will decide the game

Most coverage of the Saints revolves around Drew Brees and their dynamic passing game. Don’t sleep on the ground game, though, as Mark Ingram and company are currently ranked eighth in the league with 124.7 yards per game. The Ravens, for reference, are ranked 10th with 124.1 yards per game.

Khiry Robinson will probably miss this game after missing the last four, so it will be the Mark Ingram show Monday night. He has proven up to the task, rushing for 618 yards on a 4.5 yard per carry clip. Last week’s loss against the Cincinnati Bengals snapped a streak of three-straight 100-yard games for Ingram, who has excelled since Robinson’s injury.

The magic number for the Ravens is 4.0. Hold the Saints to less than that per carry, and the Ravens will be able to sell out against the pass. Hold the Saints to less than four yards per carry, and the Ravens have a very good chance to win.
