It is no secret that Matt Elam has had a rough season thus far. It was reported in training camp that he became a leader on that defense and that he increased communication in the secondary. So far that hasn’t shown up in his play during the regular season.
Elam started out in his rookie year playing out of position, which definitely hindered his progression in his initial season. A lot of criticism has been unfairly given because of his first round status, but it also comes with the territory.
Elam has consistently been out of place and misses tackles often in pursuit.
Jacoby Jones would place second for this award due to his dropped passes on offense, dropped punt returns and overall showing no explosion on special teams.
