The secondary gave up a bunch of big plays against the Bengals, and that is no coincidence, as No. 1 cornerback Jimmy Smith left this game in the first quarter and did not return. Smith has been the Ravens best defensive back by a mile. In fact, he has been the only quality one that they have possessed this season.

Terrence Brooks and Lardarius Webb were two players in particular that did not look good. They got beat down the field numerous times. Brooks gave up the biggest play of the game on a third-and-10 late in the game. Dalton just heaved the ball up to Mohammad Sanu, and Brooks failed to turn his head to the ball, leading to the long reception by Sanu.

Dominique Franks did make some big plays however, as he defended three passes filling in for the injured Smith.
