A.J. Green will play and make everyone forget he was ailing
A.J. Green has not played since October 5 and has not practiced this week, so on the surface, he would seem to be a long-shot to play Sunday. Yet, I expect him to play and play well.
The fact that Green hasn’t been ruled out yet is telling to me. A game against the Ravens has to be circled on the Bengals’ and Green’s calenders, so I’m not counting him out, no matter how many practices he has missed.
And if Green plays, he’s going to make the Ravens pay. Remember, his 77-yard touchdown in Week 1 came after he had already been injured. Green is a good enough receiver to play on one leg, and with his toe injury seemingly not healing, he may have to in Week 8. But unless he is absolutely forbidden from playing, I expect Green to play.
And if he does, at least one big play is in that man’s future on Sunday, regardless of how much the Ravens’ secondary has improved.
