Steve Smith will get back on track in a big way

Steve Smith had a down game against the Indianapolis Colts, as he was a major focus of the Colts’ coverages. This week, Smith will get back on track despite facing a Bucs’ secondary that features talented cornerback Alterraun Verner.

Verner is the ideal zone corner, with great instincts and good tackling ability. But the Bucs opposite cornerback, Johnthan Banks, is one of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL, and I’m not exaggerating. Banks has allowed completions 77.8 percent of the time he has been targeted, giving up 220 yards on just 27 targets.

Joe Flacco should have a big day taking advantage of the Buc’s 30th-ranked pass defense, and so should his favorite receiver. The Ravens will undoubtedly get Smith in favorable match ups, and that should allow him to have a huge game.

And with Steve Smith dominating, expect Torrey Smith to take a back seat again.
