Defensive Game Ball: Elvis Dumervil

Though the Ravens only managed two sacks, they generated consistent pressure and delivered some hard hits on Cam Newton. Dumervil led the charge with 1.5 sacks and consistent pressure.

Dumervil’s first sack (which he split with Terrell Suggs) was crucial, as it knocked the Panthers out of field goal range on their first drive.

I must point out, the entire front-seven was excellent. Brandon Williams helped lead the way for a dominant performance defending the run, C.J. Mosley was active and Daryl Smith forced a fumble. Even Dean Pees was more on point today with a more aggressive game plan.

But with the secondary continuing to struggle against the Panthers, the resurgent pass rush was critical. Dumervil led the charge, and for that, he is your defensive player of the game.
