Touchdowns through the air and on the ground. Field Goal. Blocked Punt. Interception for a touchdown.
This is the kind of football fans love to watch and I’m sure all Maryland fans feel good about what they’ve seen during the first half.
C.J. Brown has looked good throwing the deep ball which has led to a touchdown and a beautiful catch by Marcus Leak over a defender.
Brown has accumulated 211 passing yards with two touchdowns from 25 and 90 yards respectively.
On the ground, Maryland has been mixing it up with four players getting touches so far. Jacquille Veii has been a delightful surprise in the running game with 34 yards on four attempts and found the end zone in the second quarter.
Maryland’s defense also has jumped in on the scoring with Will Likely intercepting Terrel Hunt and then taking the ball 88 yards for the touchdown.
The Terps have been able to keep the Orange fans quiet at the Carrier Dome throughout the first half with big plays both offensively and defensively.
Even though Maryland leads at the half, the Orange have four more first downs and have run 23 more plays than Maryland.
Maryland has to come back out in the second half and stop the big plays on third downs. The offense needs to continue to look down field while mixing it up on the ground.
Here are the scoring drives from the first half.
