Paul Kruger will keep his hot streak going

Paul Kruger, the former Raven and current Brown, has been on a pass rushing tear to start the year, with two sacks and plenty of pressures. He does it not with great physical tools (physically he’s just slightly above average in speed and strength), but with savvy and hustle.

Where Kruger has always excelled is his hand use. Blockers have a hard time keeping their hands on the wily Kruger, and in turn, Kruger has little difficulty shedding their blocks.

Eugene Monroe is a savvy veteran, but Rick Wagner isn’t. As good as Wagner has played so far this year, he’s just a second-year player who has yet to take on an edge rusher of Kruger’s caliber.

And the Browns, who move Kruger around to great effect, have to be aware of that. Kruger will test Wagner, and expect Kruger to win a few of those matchups.
