Flacco took on a conservative approach throughout the game. He completed his first nine passes and ended the night going 21-of-29, but he didn’t attempt many throws of 30 yards or more, which isn’t like Flacco. However, it worked for him in Week 2.
He threw accurately, he looked poised and he made some beautiful throws. Many have predicted Flacco to have his best statistical year yet in 2014, and that might very well be the case.
He threw for 345 yards last week, but that was on 62 attempts, and he only completed 35 of them. He attempted less than half of what he did last week with 29 and he completed 21 of them for 166 yards and two touchdowns. There was nothing flashy about his performance, but it was exactly what the Ravens needed, and it landed him an ESPN quarterback rating of 87.4 and a passer rating of 109.3.
