The receivers started the game off atrociously, to say the very least. They dropped five passes in the first half, and four of them came off the hands of newly-acquired Steve Smith Sr. However, like Flacco’s performance, everything changed in the second half.
First off, Dennis Pitta was spectacular in this game throughout, as he hauled in ten passes for 83 yards and was targeted 15 times, which tied for the most on the team.
However, Pitta was playing well from the start. A player who wasn’t was Steve Smith, who as I said before, dropped four passes in the first half. He came back with a strong second half, ending the game with seven catches and 118 yards. That number is a bit misleading though, as he got 80 of his yards on one play.
Other than that, Owen Daniels and Kamar Aiken both looked good in their Ravens’ debuts, as they both hauled in four passes.
Joe Flacco and Torrey Smith did not look like they were on the same page for most of this game, but the speedster still managed to total 50 yards on three receptions.
