The running game continued its struggles from the 2013 season, as it was nowhere to be seen in the first half. Third-year man Bernard Pierce carried the ball six times for 14 yards (2.3 yards-per-carry). However, in the second half, that would all change.

Pierce did not get a carry the rest of the game, and six-year veteran Justin Forsett took the load. He took advantage of some great blocking from the offensive line to total 70 yards on 11 carries, including one touchdown.

The only other rusher in the game was Joe Flacco, who carried the ball three times for seven yards and converted two third downs on the ground.
