The secondary wasn’t supposed to perform well, but that’s why we play the games. With the Ravens three best corners, Lardarius Webb (back), Jimmy Smith (chest), and Asa Jackson (ankle) all absent for this game, the Ravens secondary exceeded all expectations.
Rookie safety Terrence Brooks looked really good in this game , showing speed, agility and quickness. He recorded three solo tackles and his first sack. The third-round pick out of Florida State has a lot of talent, and it will be interesting to see whether he starts in week one or not.
Veteran corner Dominique Franks also recorded three solo tackles in this game, as did second-year DB and special teams specialist Brynden Trawick.
Anthony Levine, Matt Elam, and Tramain Jacobs all recorded two solo tackles.
Grade – A (A++ for exceeding expectations)
