CENTER FIELD (-1 = Marginally Worse)

YEAR AVG OBP 2B HR RBI
75% of 2014 .274 .303 23 22 73
100% of 2013 .285 .318 34 34 111

I feel really bad about scoring center field as marginally worse, but look at the numbers.

Adam Jones is a rather consistent player, and when the year is all said and done, he may approach the stats of 2013. But that would be impressive, because honestly, his number from 2013 are just that impressively good. 2014 is no failure!

Like J.J. Hardy, Jones gets more than his fair share of critical hits and home runs. His first inning numbers are especially very high, giving the Orioles opportunities to take leads and get out in front. He is the face of the organization and can carry a team for a while when he gets hot.

But Jones will have to get very, very hot over the final 39 games to equal 2013 – essentially needing one RBI per game, and one home run every three days. But he could do it.
