2. Running Backs – Three headed monster?

The three-down running back who just wears down defenses every time he touches the ball is what every football team wants.

But, what if you have depth and can rotate between three backs that can all help pound the ball down the throat of the opposing defenses?

First-team running back Brandon Ross was held out of the scrimmage to allow Albert Reid and Wes Brown to get some touches.

Reid had 41 yards on 10 carries with a long run of 23 yards while Brown had 52 yards on 12 carries with his longest coming on a 27-yard run.

All three of Maryland’s running backs can have their moments. For first-team Ross, it should be helpful knowing he has two other guys who can get the job done if he needs to sit out a play or two.
