2007 – San Francisco – AL 5, NL 4

Orioles – Brian Roberts (2B)

2007 was the second of the two occasions where Brian Roberts was an All-Star for the Orioles. Though this season was his career third-highest in batting average at .290, it was his best year for stolen bases with a total of 50 on the whole season.

Again, on a team that was not very good, Roberts had a fantastic first half of the season. He was batting .324 at the break with 19 doubles, five home runs, and 27 stolen bases.

In the game, Brian Roberts entered in the bottom of the third inning. He was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored ahead of Ichero Suzuki on an inside-the-park home run.

2006 – Pittsburgh – AL 3, NL 2

Orioles – Miguel Tejada (SS)

Tejada played in a total of six All-Star games in his career, including three with the Orioles. This was the third and final of three consecutive appearances representing the Birds. His very first game was in his MVP season of 2002 with Oakland. He later made it twice with Houston.

Though 2006 saw Tejada’s power production drop off from the previous years, this was the season of the highest batting average in his career – hitting .330.

At the All-Star break, Tejada had played in all 90 Orioles games (record of 41-49) and he was batting .315 with 20 doubles, 17 home runs and 62 RBIs.

In the game, Tejada was a late substitute for Derek Jeter, and he grounded out to pitcher Trevor Hoffman in his only at-bat.
