Down On The Farm: Aberdeen Ironbirds Begin Season
Local Baltimore Orioles affiliate, the Aberdeen Ironbirds, started its 2014 season last Friday with a road series against Hudson Valley. Unfortunately they lost all 3 of their weekend games.
The opening roster for the team includes top Orioles pitching prospect Dylan Bundy, who’s scheduled to make at least two starts for the IronBirds, including Aberdeen’s second home game, on Saturday, June 21.
Bundy pitched yesterday (Sunday) for the first time since his elbow reconstruction surgery, going five innings and giving up one run. He threw a total of 65 pitches, and though he allowed a number of baserunners on hits, he walked none and struck out six.
The team plays on the road before their home opener against the Brooklyn Cyclones on Friday, June 20 at 7:35 p.m.
