Baltimore Orioles: AL East Disabled List Team

The big story throughout the entire AL East this year is that injuries have resulted in all five teams remaining extraordinarily close in the standings. The Baltimore Orioles may be adding another name to the disabled list if a worst-case scenario is returned on an issue with Matt Wieters’ elbow. He will be seeing the famous Dr. Andrews on Wednesday.

This would add to the difficulties for the Orioles of having Chris Davis currently on the DL, along with Manny Machado only recently returning from the season-ending surgery in September of last season.

But the Orioles are not alone in sending players to the DL. It has been an epidemic throughout the AL East. The Tampa Bay Rays are missing three of their rotation starters.

So I got to thinking about what sort of lineup could be put together from a roster of players who currently are, or have this season spent time on the disabled list. Not wishing ill upon Wieters, I did however add him to this exercise. If indeed he is fine and will recover without time off, you can just put Francisco Cervelli in the lineup.

Take a look at this lineup! Do you think it could compete?
