A survey of the most common mock drafts reveals that the top two choices as Baltimore Ravens possible first-round selections are safety Calvin Pryor of Louisville and offensive lineman Zach Martin of Notre Dame.
Though not a scientific model, I simply did a Google search of “2014 NFL Mock Draft” and listed here the top 20 sites and what they predict. The total list below numbers 31 drafts, since several of the sites had multiple drafts by varied staff writers.
Certainly Pryor and Martin are prime potential candidates, and each would likely do well with the Ravens and add immediate value. Taylor Lewan of Michigan was the third most-listed player, though he does not strike me as the most athletic of the choices.
Eric Ebron was listed three times – though most writers believe he will be gone long before the 17th pick. And apparently most of these prognosticators think the same will be true of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix of Alabama – a name often associated with the Baltimore Ravens.
There are a couple of names on the list that are relatively remote as Ravens considerations. For example – the first one: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State. The writer described him as the third-best wide receiver in the field who dazzled teams at the combine with great times on drills and a 42-inch vertical!
The 31 mock draft “experts” listed below divide on Baltimore Ravens predictions as follows:
- 8 – Calvin Pryor
- 7 – Zach Martin
- 4 – Taylor Lewan
- 3 – Eric Ebron
- 2 – Odell Beckham
- 1 – Allen Robinson, Mike Evans, Timmy Jernigan, C.J. Mosley, Kyle Fuller, Ra’Shede Hageman, Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix

In our FanSided Network mock draft back in January, I had picked Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State. That was before a lot of things happened, like Steve Smith being secured and Jacoby Jones being re-signed. But I’d laugh so hard if that happened … and all of you could hear it wherever you are.
