The Maryland Terrapins women’s team make their fourth consecutive trip to the big dance.
Coach Brenda Frese and the Terrapins will look to take advantage of their home court when they host #13 Army on Sunday, March 23 at the Comcast Center.
After another solid year from the Terps who finished the season 24-6, they find themselves in the “big dance” once again.
Since Coach Frese took over the program in 2002, Maryland has advanced to the NCAA tournament ten times, the elite eight four times and won the national championship in 2006.
This year, the Terps finished tied for second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference and were led by senior forward and ACC player of the year, Alyssa Thomas.
Thomas had previously won the award in both her sophmore and junior years. She is just the second player in ACC history to earn the conference player of the year award three times, joining former Duke star Alana Beard.
Maryland will need her to be the star if they want to make it back to the Final Four.
