Maryland football recruiting now has their 13th commit of the 2018 class. H.D. Woodson High School Cornerback Vincent Flythe commits to Maryland.

Maryland football upgraded their 2018 recruiting class with Senior Cornerback Vincent Flythe. The cornerback committed to Maryland football Friday night June 23 via Twitter, giving the Terps  their first defensive back of the class. With his commitment, Maryland will continue to move up the rankings in national and Big Ten recruiting.

Business continues to boom for Maryland football and the DMV to UMD movement. Vincent Flythe becomes the third local recruit to pledge the Terps this week (Brian Cobbs – June 20, Spencer Anderson – June 21). Flythe chose to stay home and the Terps beat out Wisconsin, Louisville, Georgia, Kentucky and Temple, teams in his top six.

Vincent Flythe is ranked the No. 61 cornerback  and No. 9 best player in Washington D.C. according to the 247Sports Composite. Flythe plays very well in man coverage and his junior film will show that. His ball skills are what make him stand out more than anything else.   At 5-foot-11, 175 pounds,  Flythe was selected First Team All-State and First Team All Conference for a reason and the Terps just picked up a solid defensive back from their own back yard. That seems to be the norm now as getting local recruits keeps happening.

With solid coaching from the Terps’ Cornerbacks Coach Aazar Abdul-Rahim, Flythe could be a lot better than he already is now.

It is clear that Maryland’s coaching staff made Flythe a priority and Abdul-Rahim was a big part of that according to 247Sports Writer Ahmed Ghafir.

"“Me and Aazaar talked like everyday,” Flythe added. “My relationship is great with coach Aazaar, that’s one of the main reasons why I’ll spend my college career at Maryland. Me and him have built something special with each other.”"

Flythe has one more season at H.D. Woodson to cement his legacy with the school and by the time he comes to Maryland, it will be time for him to build his own as a Maryland Terrapin.
