Washington Wizards second-year player Kelly Oubre has been suspended for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics after Game 3 altercation.

Kelly Oubre of the Washington Wizards will be out for Sunday’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics after shoving Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk in Game 3 that earned him an ejection.

The official statement from the NBA, which came two days after the Game 3 scuffle, said Oubre received a suspension for his “forceful and unwarranted contact with Olynylk.

According to Chris Forsberg of ESPN, Oubre’s eruption came from “reoccurring events” of being struck in the head. Oubre also added:

"“I’ve been hit in the head multiple times by the same person,” Oubre told reporters after practice Friday. “I’ve confronted [Olynyk] about it. The last time it happened, I fell, I felt pain in my head and my jaw, and I got up and I ran to him and I bumped him.”"

CSN Mid-Atlantic’s J. Michael delivered an eye-opening video on Twitter of Olynyk setting arguably an even harder screen on Oubre just minutes before the scuffle.

The Wizards will now be missing a key piece to their rotation in a decisive Game 4 with Oubre suspended. Oubre is averaging 19.6 minutes per game in the East semis, along with 8.7 points and 2.7 rebounds.

With Oubre out, the Wizards will look to forward Bojan Bogdanovic who had his best playoff game yet, scoring 19 points in Game 3 including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.

For Oubre, this won’t be the last time we see him this season as the Celtics vs. Wizards playoff series is guaranteed a Game 5 on Wednesday in Boston. The Wizards will look to even the series Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
