Episode 12 of BMore Wired is in the books and we are not happy with the Baltimore Orioles being out of first place.

A lot has gone down since our last episode, with the most depressing news being the Baltimore Orioles have fallen out of first place for the first time since we started the podcast. We really thought we were bringing them the good luck, but it has been a rough August for the Orioles.

We are excited to bring on Eric RDT, the Orioles writer for Barstool Sports. We talk about the O’s struggles as of late and the concern surrounding Chris Tillman’s shoulder. There is not a lot to be happy about with this team right now, and this series against the Washington Nationals could determine the season.

We asked Eric for some predictions for the rest of the way and he believes Mark Trumbo will finish the season with 44 home runs. That would likely mean that the Orioles would have the home run leader on their team for the fourth season in a row, something that Eric pointed out that the team can use as a recruiting tool when pursuing free agents in the offseason.

Our discussion on the Orioles continued before jumping into our favorite segment. This week’s version of “7s” is one that we will not forget as there are some wild moments in sports as of late.

  1. Can the Ryan Lochte story get any more hilarious? We all have had a few too many and done some dumb things, but he cannot do anything right. We proposal a reality show with Lochte and Johnny Manziel. That would be must see tv.
  2. All the attention surrounding Lochte has taken the spotlight away from Baltimore’s own, Michael Phelps. He is deserving of a statue in Baltimore.
  3. USA Basketball won another gold medal, but is it really necessary to cry after winning a gold medal that we all knew they would win? Yeah, talking about you Carmelo Anthony.
  4. The strangest site of the Rio Olympics goes to the Mongolian wrestling team after they stripped down to their underwear following a controversial loss. Cannot make this stuff up.
  5. Billy Butler aka Country Breakfast has missed a couple games after getting into a fight with former Oriole Danny Valencia. Valencia must have popped him good because Butler is dealing with concussion like symptoms.
  6. Six Notre Dame football players were arrested over the weekend. One is accused of assaulting an officer, while the other five were booked for drug and gun charges. This is Notre Dame we are talking about here. Why do they need guns??
  7. The English Premier League is underway and we give our picks to win it all.

The Baltimore Ravens have played two games since the last episode and they are almost at full strength with key players coming back to practice today. The defense is a concern as both the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts starters moved the ball at will against the first-team defense. Dean Pees really needs Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil to play like they did in 2014.

The offense is welcoming back Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman, and the entire fan base is waiting to see the 2015 first-round pick show us what he’s got. This might be the most talent that the Ravens have had at the skill positions and some good players might hit the free-agent market.

That is all for this week’s episode of BMore Wired. We will have a more in depth look at the Ravens season next week after they play their third preseason game this weekend. Until then, cue the Delmon Young.
