The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts square off in each team’s second preseason game. Baltimore fans will never forgive the Irsay family and the Colts.

Mention the Colts in the city of Baltimore and you will get the same look that a dog gives when it’s confused. That tilted to the side look and wondering what the hell happened.

There is a generation of Baltimoreans that will never forget Bob Irsay. We all know the tale of how he moved the team to Indianapolis in the middle of the night. It was one of the most demoralizing times in Baltimore sports history.

Baltimore now has the Ravens and to be frank, they are better off.

The Colts have been a stable franchise since they drafted Peyton Manning. They enjoyed an era of success that won the AFC South seven times between 2003 and 2010, and a Super Bowl in 2006.

One Manning injury sent him out of Indy and on to Denver. That had a lot to do with the Colts finishing with the worst record and Andrew Luck being labeled a once in a generation talent. Luck is a good player, but Manning added another Super Bowl win to his resume.

So the city of Indianapolis has one Super Bowl championship. Baltimore has three, two of which come from the Ravens, not the Colts who abandoned Charm City.

Indianapolis might not see this as a rivalry, but Baltimore cannot stand seeing the Colts on their schedule. Even if it’s just a meaningless preseason game, Baltimore fans want to not only win, but embarrass Irsay’s franchise in the worst way possible.

The Ravens enter the second preseason game with relatively healthy. Steve Smith and Terrell Suggs will not play, and that is likely the case with Joe Flacco as well. There is no reason to expose them to injury in an exhibition game.

There will be plenty to look out for this evening. The running backs were especially impressive in the first preseason game. The defense not so much and there needs to be improvement on that side of the ball. But in the end, what is most important is that everyone stays healthy.
