The Baltimore Ravens will not miss Peyton Manning as the future Hall of Famer was 11-3 all-time against them.

One of the greatest to play the game is calling it quits. Ravens fans can rejoice as Peyton Manning had their number during his terrific 18-year career.

Manning’s career is filled with highlights. He is the only player to be named MVP five times. He has thrown for an NFL-record 71,940 yards and 539 touchdowns. He led his team to 56 game-winning drives. To cap it all off, the win in Super Bowl 50 gave Manning his 200th win of his career, besting Brett Favre for the most wins by a quarterback in NFL history.

It was tough to watch Manning don a Colts uniform and shatter Johnny Unitas’ records that he set at Memorial Stadium. He even wanted to wear high top cleats to honor the Baltimore legend, but the No Fun League said that he could not. For some fans, Manning was always viewed as a villain just because of the team that drafted him.

The Ravens would win the first two matchups against Manning, including a win in his rookie season. He threw for over 300 yards in both games that were played in Baltimore. Even in defeat, he played well, but little did we know how successful he would become.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Peyton would not lose to the Ravens in the regular season for the rest of his career. The only other time Baltimore would defeat a Manning-led team was the infamous Mile High Miracle during their 2012 Super Bowl run. Peyton had his team in position to win that game, but the players around him let him down in that game. Otherwise, he had his way every time he took the field against the Ravens.

The numbers are absolutely staggering. He threw for 3,820 yards and 30 touchdowns in the 14 games. What is more astonishing is he threw only 11 interceptions against one of the best defensive units since the turn of the century.

The game that stung the most was the seven touchdown game just months after the playoff win in Denver. Manning came out firing from the outset, throttling the defending Super Bowl champions, 49-27. It was the start of an absurd season for Manning, who threw for 55 touchdowns and 5,477 yards while leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl for the first time since John Elway was the man leading the way in Denver.

The next, and last time the two sides would meet again was the 2015 regular season opener. The Ravens did not allow Manning to throw a touchdown against them in that game. Many wondered if he still had what it takes to win in the NFL, but after an up-and-down season, his career will end in proper fashion: as a Super Bowl champion.

The Ravens will be thrilled to see him go. There is one less Hall of Fame quarterback standing in their way of getting back to the promise land. Now if only the guy in New England would retire as well.

It was a magical ride for Peyton Manning. It’s only a matter of time before he is enshrined in Ohio on the first ballot. And while it was tough to see him beat up on the Ravens, it has been a joy to watch him play football.
