The Big Ten has perennially been one of the most consistent and dominant conferences over the years when it comes to basketball. Last season, two out of the four teams in the Final Four were representatives of the Big Ten conference (Wisconsin and Michigan State).

This season should be just as competitive, as there could be at least seven NCAA Tournament bids coming from the Big Ten.

The USA Today Preseason Coaches’ Poll was released earlier this week and it featured five B1G teams in the top 25: Maryland (3), Michigan State (13), Indiana (15), Wisconsin (17) and Purdue (24).

Wisconsin defeated Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship game last year. The Badgers got it done as the favorites to win last season. Could the Maryland Terrapins, who are the favorites this season, cut down the nets as well? Only time will tell.

Here’s are the Big Ten basketball preseason power rankings.
