The Baltimore Orioles were officially eliminated from postseason play earlier this week, much to the delight of everyone around the organization. It was a season that many expected would end with another playoff berth following last season’s American League Championship Series appearance.

When the schedule came out last season, many people pointed to the upcoming series against the New York Yankees as one that could decide who wins the AL East. Instead, the Orioles find themselves playing meaningless games as the calendar turns to October.

Inside the clubhouse there has been talk between the players about the imminent changes that are in store once the season comes to an end. The Orioles have several key members of the franchise’s rebirth that will be eligible for free agency, including first baseman Chris Davis and pitcher Wei-Yin Chen. Could this be the last time we see both players in an Orioles uniform? This is going to be an interesting offseason for the Orioles front office.

I was honored to join Ricky Keeler of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show to preview the upcoming series against the Yankees. Yanks Go Yard is the news for Yankees news and analysis on the FanSided Network. In the hour long show, Ricky and I discussed how the weather might impact the weekend series and give a breakdown of the pitching matchups for both teams.

We also discuss what is ahead for the Orioles in the offseason, some of the surprises and disappointments from the 2015 season and the tension between Orioles General Manager Dan Duquette and Manager Buck Showalter. Will this be the last game for Matt Wieters, Steve Pearce and Darren O’Day? Will Buck or Duquette be out next season? These are just some of the topics we discussed.
