The Maryland football team suffered an embarrassing loss to the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday. It’s not often that players get rewarded in a loss, but someone has to get the helmet stickers for this week. It’s quite obvious that there will be a likely suspect who is one of the recipients. Here are the top performers from Week 2 of the college football season.

3 Stickers: CB/PR/KR Will Likely (6)

Surprise, surprise. Likely didn’t have nearly as many punt return yards as he did in Week 1, but he did reach the end zone for a second consecutive week, making a house call from 85 yards out in the first quarter. The junior has made a name for himself early in the season as one of the nation’s most dangerous playmakers. Likely also recorded two pass breakups.

"Here’s an idea, @MarylandPride opponents: Whatever you do, do not allow Will Likely to return the ball. #BTNStandout http://t.co/I4s5cIyzLN— Maryland on BTN (@MarylandOnBTN) September 13, 2015"

2 Stickers: DE Yannick Ngakoue (2)

Ngakoue was a force all game long for the Terps. He was projected to be a breakout candidate this year and his performance on Saturday validated those claims. Ngakoue notched four tackles and three sacks on the day. Even though Maryland gave up 48 points, he was one of few bright spots on the defensive unit.

1 Sticker: WR D.J. Moore (1)

It’s pretty sad that it’s hard to pick three players who shined this early in the season. Moore, the true freshman, did record his first touchdown reception of his college career, however. It was his only reception for the day, but he made it count. Look for the former 3-star prospect to get more opportunities as the season goes on.

Around the Country:

3 Stickers: Florida State RB Dalvin Cook

After avoiding suspension, Cook had an impressive game in Week 1, but he followed it up with an even more impressive performance in Week 2 against South Florida. He racked up 266 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries.

2 Stickers: Bowling Green QB Matt Johnson

Of course Terps fans don’t want to see this, but Johnson torched Maryland’s defense all day long. The senior threw for 491 yards and six touchdowns to just one interception. Johnson led all quarterbacks in passing yards and touchdowns for Week 2. He now leads the nation in passing yards.

1 Sticker: Penn State DE Carl Nassib

Nassib was an absolute terror in Penn State’s victory over Buffalo this past weekend. He recorded five tackles, three for a loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. The defensive line played really well on Saturday and Nassib was the ringleader.
