Baltimore Ravens Set to Unveil Ray Lewis Statue

For 15 years in Baltimore, there has only been one statue standing in front of M&T Bank Stadium. That statue was of one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Johnny Unitas, who played for the Baltimore Colts for almost his entire career. He will now be joined by one of the greatest defensive players to ever step on the field – Ray Lewis.

Not only is Lewis a legend for his play on the field, but he is even more acknowledged for his impact off of it. His pre and post game rituals, his speeches, his pep talks, have all added to be a huge part of Lewis legacy. He will forever be known as one of the greatest leaders in the history of football.

With that being said, putting up a statue of him just makes so much sense. He retired about a year and a half ago, but they still should have unveiled it quicker. That’s how important Ray Lewis was to the Baltimore Ravens and the game of football.

There aren’t many fans of the game of football that don’t respect Ray Lewis. Sure there is still some hate from when he was involved in a murder case in 2000, but you have to respect the guy for how he has changed the thinking process before a game.

Now I can go on and write a novel about Ray Lewis, but I know that you would lose interest in that.

However, I’m here to tell you that Ray Lewis is not only the greatest middle linebacker to ever play, but he is also one of the greatest players. Hey, maybe I should write a novel about him, don’t you think?
