Baltimore Ravens News: Aaron Ross Suffers Torn Achilles, Expected To Miss Entire Season

Just two hours after the NFL announced that starting running back Ray Rice would miss the first two games of the season, the Ravens get more bad news. According to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, cornerback Aaron Ross tore his Achilles during his conditioning test.

After losing Corey Graham in free agency, the Raves are in search of a number three cornerback, so this was a bad injury. With that being said, Ross is one of many players that can grab the third spot at corner. This injury means that Ross will likely be done for the year. It opens things up for Dominique Franks, who was on the verge of missing the roster, but thanks to this injury; he will likely be included.

Asa Jackson and Chykie Brown are two additional players that might benefit from this injury. They were all battling for the third spot at cornerback, so this will eliminate one candidate to grab that spot. Of course this will not effect starters Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith as they are certain to be the first and second cornerbacks when the season starts.
