The Advanced-A All-Star game pitting the Carolina League versus the California League will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in nearby Wilmington, DE. Baltimore Orioles affiliate, the Frederick Keys have had two players named to the game. Outfielder Glynn Davis, whose .313 batting average places him fourth in the league will be the lone active as Pitcher Matt Taylor, who ranks second in the Carolina League in ERA at 1.94, is currently on the Disabled List. Davis is rated the No. 29 prospect in the Orioles system according to Baseball America. while Taylor’s ERA is second-best among all Orioles minor leaguers. When I visited Frederick back in May Davis played some good ball and he had the winning run. As noted during that previous article “Outfielder Davis came out of CCBC-Catonsville and seems to be stuck at Frederick for some time now due to some injuries. He has potential due to his speed and power. Lets hope he progresses well in 2014.” It appears that it may be coming true.
