A fist pump to you Gary Williams!

Former Maryland coach Gary Williams was selected on Tuesday to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held on November 23 in Kansas City to kick-off the CBE Classic which will include Mark Turgeon and the Terps men’s basketball team.

Coach Williams will be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with seven others including, former college and NBA stars Shaquille O’Neal who played at LSU and Grant Hill who played at Duke.

This is hopefully one of two inductions that Williams will be a part of this year. Williams, who led his alma mater to the 2002 National Championship is also up for selection into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Naismith class will be announced before the 2014 NCAA Final Four in Dallas next week.

Coach Williams deserves both of these inductions and we all believe it is way overdue. Congratulations Coach!
