Towson Defeated Eastern Illinois 49-39 to Advance to NCAA FCS Semi-Final Game

The #5 Towson Tigers (12-2) will head west to play #3 Eastern Washington (12-2) in an NCAA FCS semi-final game on Saturday, December 21. The game will kick off at 2:00PM and can be viewed nationally on ESPNU.

Eastern Washington is 7-0 at home while Towson is a perfect 8-0 on the road this season, which makes this semi-final game a great match-up.

West is the direction Towson is headed for this game and West is who the Tigers will look to help lead them to victory.

Junior running back Terrance West, a Baltimore native, is set to break the record books while helping his team advance to the NCAA FCS Campionship Game on January 4 in Frisco, Texas.

West broke the NCAA FCS playoff single-game rushing record against Eastern Illinois with 354 yards. He also scored five, yes FIVE touchdowns in the win.

He is one of three finalists for the Walter Payton Award and has tied the NCAA FCS single-season touchdown record with 39 touchdowns this year.

Terrance West is not about to get caught up in the records though. He just wants to help this Towson football team do something they have never done before…win a national championship.

A humble and focused West spoke about his thoughts on breaking records after Friday’s win over Eastern Illinois.

"“I’m not concerned about records. This is all about winning.”"

West and the rest of the Towson Tigers football team are representing Maryland in a big way and are living up to the famous quote from Wedding Crashers,

"“Crab cakes and football, that’s what Maryland does!”"
