The Maryland football team rolls into Blacksburg, Virginia today to take on the Hokies. Maryland is still one game away from bowl eligibility.

With only three games left in the 2013 season, the Terps need to find a way to put themselves in a position to win a game. Without big-time play-makers Stefon Diggs and Deon Long, quarterback C.J. Brown is who the Terps are leaning on to step up and lead this team to win number six.

Since Maryland beat West Virginia, Brown hasn’t found the end zone in the air or on the ground. Now, it’s not all his fault, but like any quarterback who is a leader, he has taken the collapse of a once-ranked football team and placed the responsibility on his shoulders.

"“It’s definitely on me,” Brown said. “That reflects that (quarterback) position. I’ve got to be able to lead the team down the field and make plays.”"

Today, Maryland will look to put the ball in the hands of number 16 and hope that he will spark the Terps offense to make up for the lack of defense we’ve seen over the past few weeks. The Maryland defense will have their hands full going up against quarterback Logan Thomas who was 25-31 passing for 366 yards and two touchdowns in Virginia Tech’s upset win over #23 Miami last Saturday.

Side note…the Terps will once again don their “White-Ops” uniform which is designed by Under Armour according to uniform guru Phil Hecken. Not that I’m superstitious about uniforms, but this is the same get-up that Maryland wore against Florida State a few weeks ago (ya know…the game they lost 63-0).

With all the adversity that has struck this Maryland football program once again, there are still three games left, and a bowl game is still within reach. Just remember what Tim Allen said as Jason Nesmith from Galaxy Quest

"“Never give up. Never surrender.”"

Go Terps!
